Georgina Starr | Starvision | 1997 | Comic book panels, costumes & soundtrack
For the launch of Georgina Starr's STARVISION comic book in 1997 an exhibition was held in Paris (Galerie Phillipe Rizzo) of the comic-strip panels together with You-Stole-My-Look - a display of the five outfits apparently worn by Starr while making the book. An ironic take on the idea of comic book cut-out costumes, fashion and female identity, the outfits were worn at the opening by five look-a-likes who attended the exhibition as 'Georgina Starr'.
Starr developed a series of video works alongside the making of the comic book; Drivin'On, So-Long-Babe, Inside Starrwood (Straddling the Plains Between Past & Future) and the epic animated musical Tuberama.
